Hello Everyone,
I am just about to give up on BT's Business Broadband Voice Service and I am posting this to the forum to see what advice you can provide. First - the problem... I have subscribed to BT Business Broadband and they have supplied their BT 2700HGV "2 wire" router. I have had problems with the Broadband Voice line since installation e.g. intermittent unacceptable echo/delay in one direction or the other and sometimes "incorrect number dialled message" breaking in before entire number has been dialled. I have made many calls to their broadband & VOIP support teams. The router has been replaced, as has the phone. The broadband line quality is good with bandwidth of 7Mbs+ and I have no issues with the data service. There is only one computer and one user of the line. They now tell me that everything that can be done to improve the VOIP line has been done and that the problems must be due to other (unspecified) problems in my home/office environment. I still want to use and take advantage of VOIP but I am not sure who/what to try next. Can anyone advise me? |

The issues you describe I too have had on and off with Gradwell VOIP.
I have days where VOIP is perfect - good quality sound and calls get through without issue. I have other days with a terrible echo rendering speaking to customers a challenge. Not too sure if any of them can hear it their end. Some days no calls routed - I think it's just a quiet day but in fact it's VOIP playing up. So very variable. Generally it works but it's so frustrating when it doesnt. Hours spent trying to figure out if it's my side, Gradwells side, my ISP's fault... I think either you just have to accept VOIP's quirks and live with them and yes maybe you'll lose the odd customer or 2. Having said that BT doesnt have a good reputation and I'm sure Gradwell are better. |
