Default FreeCall

Has anyone had any experience of FreeCall. It seems to belong to the same group as VoIPCheap (indeed, it is advertised on the VoIPCheap window). Seems to have some of the benefits that VoIPCheap had when it first came out. Calls to landlines in the UK (and many other destinations) are now free for 90 days (subject to a weekly limit of 300 minutes) and after the 90 days you don't lose your unused balance, but "free" calls are then charged at just under 1p per minute. I signed up, and in operation it is exactly like VoIPCheap - just cheaper!

I have a sneaky feeling that they are another Betamax brand.

Many users do not realize that VoIPBuster, VoIPCheap.co.uk, Netappel, SIP Discount, Voipstunt, Sparvoip, Internetcalls, Voipdiscount, Poivy and Voipcheap.com are all part of the same group.

I've never used any of them so can't really comment on them.

How are you finding them?

Default voIPstunt

Hi all and happy new year.

Just a quick message: I have been using voIPstunt since last April and how can I not be happy with it? It works and is virtually free. The big bonus came when I went home (Rome) for Christmas and I had the calls on their number redirected on my landline in Rome, so people here where phoning a UK number and the call was redirected to Rome for FREE!!! How can one complain?

Said that, the lack of costumer service would leave me a bit nervous if I didn't have a back up system, this is why when I move house I will be moving to voIPfone since they seem to offer some sort of assistance and allow me to take my old BT number with me. When that happens I will have to use voipstunt to phone out and voipfone for incoming calls. Connecting the various syspems together should allow me to do it "easily".

One more thing: I got (free of charge) a number from messagenet.it with a Rome dialling code. I should be able to route that to voIPstunt and from there onto my phone, so that relaiteves and friend can phone me for the price of a local call. For now I use the computer. My mother thinks it is black magic....:)

Big question: why has BT not gone bankrupt yet? But this is a question for another forum.

Default Freecall

Just a follow up to my post a couple of months ago. Freecall has worked flawlessly since I signed up. As advertised, calls really are free for the first 90 days, and after that you use up your balance at just under 1p per minute. It hasn't let me down so far

Still using it 15 months on, and it's very reliable. Most people I phone say the quality is fine, but one colleague in Norfolk always says he has a job to follow me, so now I use the landline to speak to him

I tried freecall and it works great on me too so far. I have tried other voip services but free call works fine so I think I will be sticking with it for awhile. I hope they won't change the quality of their service but improve themselves to be better.
