Hi everyone,
Just joind this forum after seeing bobvillas post elsewhere. I have skype and VoipCheap, I havn't seen the latter mentioned on here yet but I like it and so do friends that have it. Have a look and see what you think. http://www.voipcheap.co.uk/en/index.html

Yes Matt I am, been with them 3/4 weeks.
My main problem at the moment is my internet connection keeps dropping, (nothing to do with VoipCheap) I am the last person on the line from the exchange, makes it difficult to use an internet based service. I think you'll like VoipCheap, I shall be interested to hear your views.

I have been using VoIPCheap for a while now.
They seem raher good for what you pay : Using asterisk, i have them as first outbound route for UK PSTN calls... If it cant use them it just uses another provider costing a little more... If all fails it uses PSTN :D |

I have recently got a voip cheap (uk) account (was only skype before), reccomendation of a friend. cheap as chips, but i do find the person on the other end gets echo (using handset so shouldnt be speaker feedback), my friend said the same, what have you all found?
edit: meant to say i got a free edinburgh number (didnt get to choose from a list like on skype, one i put credit on clicked get free number-job done!), my friend got an 056 number with voipcheap(some time ago) which on the bt website classes as "Calls to New Voice Services" (presumably meaning VoIP) BT do charge a bit more for this (they need to cash in on VoIP!) dont know what mobile operators will be charging. note there is also a voipcheap.com which is the same company but if you register uk you can only logon to the uk site, same with http://<a href="http://www.sipdiscou...count.com/</a> (again looks to be the same but is aimed on harware sip phones) http://<a href="http://www.internetc...calls.com/</a> -also looks to be the same and http://<a href="http://www.voipstunt...stunt.com/</a> and http://<a href="http://www.voipdisco...scount.com</a> and the original (as has been mentioned) http://www.voipbuster.com but whichever one you sign up with i think your stuck with as i cant sign into any of the others, allthough they apear to be the same company (or a dirty scam /phishing sites) |

just tested out another cool feature with voipcheap. go into your account and you can do a web activated call.
you put in your phone number first and then the destination number, it rings your number then the destination, charged at normal rate. i did landline to landline and the total cost was free (but will have been burning double minutes) did mobile to mobile and it charged for 2 lots (as i expected) still a great feature: good quality, not pc bound (i dont have a sip phone) and keaps the broadband availiable for downloading! edit: another thing to note with voipcheap etc; it apears that purchased credit has an expirey of 120days, but still even if you dont make any paid calls, for 300 free minutes a week and an incomming number thats not bad! |

Hi all,
Matt,voipcheap/stunt/buster etc are run by finera betamax in germany/switzerland: http://www.betamax.com/press.php?language= I believe they have 15 different voipcheap type clones, yes that one is the uk equivilant, voipbuster being the first one they released I believe. The customer support is zero for all products,I think they DO read the emails sent as returning to the relavant website seems to include new faq's about whatever people are moaning about! Refunds?? You got more chance of getting the inland revenue to pay up on time!! Basically,DONT go over the 20 hrs a month limit on all these services,or whatever the individual provider specifies in the small print, then you should be ok.Voipcheap was a bit slow in providing us with this info, but its on the website now. Voipcheap-Web activated calls-now 3p to connect,so go out and buy an ata from maplins cheap,bk2 £30,also in staples for about the same to avoid this!(Make 100 calls, you've recovered the cost!) Staples were also doing a vonage network phone adaptor, not too sure about the ability to re-flash the firmware to enable another provider.(£25 last time I looked.)Waiting for the results! Anyways, off out to enjoy the sun! :) ttfn. |

Well,if you want to use voipcheap over in the states,I have been using it for a week over here in seattle for a week with no problems.Just dial a UK number and thats it! Dials faster actually than in the UK.
I use a b2k voip box and voipbustermate (latest version) with no problems. Clear this way,the other side say its not a very good line sometimes, but its clear enough this end. |

Hi there,
I was wondering whether something knows about the following: I have been using VoipCheap for a few days for free, using a Sip devise and calling the free destinations, all fine. However after a couple of days and since then now, already about 3 weeks, I always get a busy line when dialling a number. Do you know whether this would change, if and when I purchase calling credit or whether the lines would still be busy, i.e. then it would be a waste to buy some credit. Look forward to your replies.
