I have been using VoipCheap since last November, but suddenly on 30 August my "free" calls started being charged at 1p per minute. I am nowhere near the 300 minutes per week above which calls are no longer free. Needless to say, I get no replies to my emails. Anyone else got this problem?

They have now updated their web site, and it appears that most of the free destinations (including the UK) have gone. However, the cost is only 0.86p per minute (with no connection charge or minimum call charge), so it is still just about the cheapest available. VoipBuster (owned by the same company) is marginally cheaper (0.8p) for UK land lines, but dearer for all other categories.
The other change is that you don't lose your money after 120 days if you haven't used it all - all you lose is free calls to those free destinations which remain. After 120 days they revert to 0.86p per minute. I shall probably renew when I have finished my current prepayment Robin |
