Hi there!

Reading things on this forum I understood that lots of you guys are having problems with your providers. High rates on the one hand, bad quality on the other.

Just wanted to share my impressions on what I saw from one SIP provider from the US.

http://pctophone.ithqs.com/

With them I was able to get everything I needed for my business and at very competitive price. The rates are just great and they are using per second billing.

Example:

United States $0.0125
Mexico $0.0825
Argentina $0.0223
Aruba $0.1045
Australia $0.0162
Brazil $0.0374
Canada $0.0125
China $0.0150
Colombia $0.0550
Costa Rica $0.0607
Dominican Republic $0.0495
El Salvador $0.0880
Ghana $0.0773

I've got a test account and voice quality was good enough with G723 codec (G729 is supported too as I was told).
So if you are looking for high quality + moderate prices, go ahead!

TJ.

Hi TJ,

First off welcome to the forum!

Secondly, i'd love to go ahead but the link you have provided is dead!

Thirdly, are you a happy customer, or a sneaky sales manager?

Matt

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the welcome. The link is the following:

Using their service for 3 months. Didn't have any problems yet and hope I will not in future.

I just visited that site and it don't look all that good to me.

You have to spend cash just to register, I never do this with any voip provider because if their as good as they say they are they will let you try before you buy!

I also noticed this:
Quote:
You will receive your account details or credit to your existing account within 24 hours.
ITHQS is not responsible for delays, service problems, message blockage, SPAM filtering or any other issues associated with recipientīs email service provider that can affect delivery of the message.
That means if I run out of credit I could end up having to wait 24 hours before I am able to make any calls!

Not Good!

However I guess if your looking for a provider just to make international calls through then maybe these are the guys for you!

I was provided with a test account for free and very promptly. Straight after that I bought the service.

Hi TJ,

Are you in the UK?

I notice you mention you are using this service for your business and was wondering:

Have they provided you with a UK STD Code (e.g. 0207)? Their site suggests only NewYork numbers are available.

Does your bill appear in dollars/cents or pounds/pence?

Also, after navigating their site for a while, I came across this link http://www.ithqs.com/index-5.html where it provides a 'Great Britain' contact number. When calling it though a polite American lady tells me the number is 'temporarily out of service', which doesn't bode well

Also, what do you think about the comparisons between G729 codec (such as the service you're suggesting) and G711?

Any comments about the MOS scores between the above codecs and how they differ?

As I am sure you know business communication is far more 'mission critical' than residential so I wanted to gauge your input on these points which raised concerns in my mind when investigating this further.

Good luck

Hi James,

I am using their service to call mainly to the USA, France,Germany.
And as far as I know, they don't provide with incoming numbers, this is for outgoing calls only.
My telephone adaptor is with G.729 codec. The quality is high here.

Have a great day!
