Just bought a cheap USB voip phone for my daughter to use at uni
I want to set her laptop up with one of the sipdiscount or similar but use the usb phone I have installed latest x-lite and set it up but there is no where to configure the handset keys to the dialler Is there any freeware drivers etc that can do this Thanks |

A phone that you will be able to ring any time without the computer being switched on. It is worth some thought. Remove 'no_spam_' from email address. |

If she is in halls or doesn't have access to the router then she will be unable to forward the necessary ports. There are workarounds, but not as easy as a skype handset. Edit: The OP also said he was planning on using it with sipdiscount, has anybody tested this without port forwarding? |

(The phone that is, not the VoIP package ;-) £9.99 when I last looked! Very cheap way to get a usb "phone" ... Gordon |

(at least thats been my experience so-far) But persuading the providers to support IAX2 and persuading more phone/ATA vendors to support it too would be better... Gordon |
