Default MySIPSwitch & outbound CID

MySIPSwitch is a great service, saves money, you can use it for a
listen in (VoIP) service, for multiple SIP SP's and make also (VoIP)
calls thru it, and you need only to place their address in your ATA
device or hard/software SIP phone, via any OS system because of that,
i'm very happy with it.

This sounds similar to Voxalot. Betamax clones blocked Voxalot for a whole
while, apparently because of the potential to abuse the system. Works like
a dream now, but be careful!

Some ITSPs still block Voxalot (e.g. Sipgate), apparently because they see
it as a revenue-killer.

The outbound caller ID works okay with both these providers, when you
only can set one at a time, when you don't have any choice like me, with
the SPA3102..
Explane me the "be careful !" part ? (i already had some strange
experiences)

Betamax (which trades under a variety of names, including the ones you
referred to) has in the past been very picky about allowing connections from
intermediaries such as Voxalot and for a while the two companies did not
work at all with each other. After some discussions between the two
companies, and some configuration changes, they now work together.

I would just be careful if you have to pay money to use MySIPSwitch, as you
may regret it if Betamax decides to block it for any reason.

Voxalot now works fine with Betamax but you do have to pay for it. You can
also edit your caller ID with Voxalot subject to your number being verified
with Betamax (see other threads in this group)

MySIPSwitch is completely free! that's why i choose this one, It's an
Open Source project from Source Forge.
They don't have any interests of going commercial.
It saves me money for now, hardware and provider wise.
They have also forum support i had it running in no time, you create an
extension line in an account on their website, and you point your ATA's
setting to that account, and you don't have to leave your pc on after
that, otherwise i had to do just that, or buy expensive ATA, Phone, or
software, now i have a SPA3102, between my router and phone (DECT
station) Now i only look for something "on the go" in the form of a WiFi
SIP phone/PDA to use open network "hotspots" or a very cheap GSM "route"
option....

I'll go take a look see. If it is unreliable, Voxalot provides the same

I guess then you've got nothing to loose...:)
I find the use very easy, and i'm just starting with this.... and they
started also very recent, it has good support, but i've had no problems
so far with their connection, i guess if you use their service, you help
them getting it even better. (open source)
