Agreed? A newsgroup is a medium in which people can have discussions that are not moderated. Agreed? Ergo a newsgroup is a forum. Now lets hear your reasoning behind your assertion that a newsgroup is not a forum. |

A newsgroup is a medium in which people can have discussions that are not moderated. Ergo a newsgroup is a forum and you are wrong. Quod Erat Demonstrandum |

A newsgroup is a medium in which people can have discussions that are not moderated. Ergo a newsgroup is a forum. QED Additional proofs:- You can't make him leave because this newsgroup is not moderated which proves it is a newsgroup, which means it is a medium in which people can have discussions that are not moderated, which means it is a forum. |

Please prove me wrong. I am not trying to wind you up. I am trying to show you that your understanding of English words is at odds with most people. For a quantifiable sample, take the number of people in this thread who agree with you against the number who do not. Given the above, I am trying to show you that replying to every message with inappropriate claims such as you have here and then to turn it into some sort of crusade. |

I couldn't give a fig whether you see it or not. Once again you avoid making any coherent attack on the points I make. >> Your argument is: >> >> Europe is not a country.i >> X was born in England. >> X is English. >> Therefore X is not European. > > I'm not having an argument. I am stating a fact. I am not a European > and nothing you say will ever cause me to say/think otherwise. Facts have to be substantiated by evidence but you regard them as something to be accepted without question. By all means maintain you are not a European but do not insult our intelligence by writing the sort of utter nonsense you use in the 'I was not born in a country called .....' argument. >> The third sentence follows from the second. The final statement does >> not follow from anything written before it and replacing 'England' >> with 'Poland', 'Germany' etc, leads to the conclusion there are no >> Europeans on the planet. > > There aren't. Many Spaniards will be upset to hear this. Extending the argument means there are no Asians, Africans etc. Australians? > There are citizens of individual countries. Naughty. You're attempting to change the terms of the argument. When someone does that it is usually a sign that they realise they haven't got a leg to stand on. >> Rational thought tends to become a bit iffy without it. > > You expect rational thought..?! Strange place to look. Having stated you do not care what people think of you, you now express contempt for everyone else in this newsgroup. Brian. |

> Now lets hear your reasoning behind your assertion that a > newsgroup is not a forum. No reasoning necessary. A newsgroup is a newsgroup and not a forum. End of discussion. As you won't killfile me, I'll have to killfile you. Plonk. Ivor |
