Hello,
I use voipcheap.com SIP connectivity with Asterisk - as do many of my customers. Over last weekend, everyone got cut off. Error messages in the logs pointed to a codec problem. It appeared that they stopped supporting GSM last weekend - and that was the only protocol I had configured. Having switched myself and all my customers over to g729a earlier this week, this morning the complaints started coming again. Customers reporting not being abale to make calls, poor quality etc. For one of my customers sip.voipcheap.com was showing as a 193.x.x.x IP in their registry whereas on my system an 8x.x.x.x IP was showing. I could make calls they couldn't - until a sip reload. They also complained about quality. Since then service has been intermittent. I don't know whats going on with these guys but their causing me stress. Any one else had problems? |

Remove 'no_spam_' from email address. |

Yes they had some problems today and although they seem to have stopped accepting calls on GSM codec, everything seems to be back on track now. They are by far the cheapest provider I am aware of. And quality has been as good as any other provider I have used. I have calls failing over to voiptalk now in the event calls cannot complete via voipcheap.com so can see no reason to 'choose a better provider than voipcheap'. --- Sean Browne Cardiff IT Support Ltd www.cardiffitsupport.com |

This isn't a problem for me as I only use the G711 codec, but then I only have a couple of calls going at the same time now and then, sometimes 3. |

http://www.voipcheap.com/en/sipp.html http://www.voipstunt.com/en/sipp.html http://www.voipbuster.com/en/sipp.html Scroll down the the bottom of the page, under the codecs you can use. Same for their other services. |
