I loathe and detest ties, I wouldn't wear one if you paid me..! Or badges, come to that (with one exception, that has nothing to do with this group). I repeat: I will never mention Skype again if Ron agrees never to mention Sipgate again. You can call me a troll if you wish, but that is the condition. Ivor |

At the risk of getting even further off topic, please tell me how wearing a tie has any positive benefits. It is typically only required for *men* going to work. That in itself makes it a sexist thing, which is in itself wrong. As for wearing one, a tie serves only to make me feel physically uncomfortable; if I am uncomfortable I am not going to be able to do my job efficiently. I am employed to do a job, not to look like a tailor's dummy. If I am to do that job efficiently, the last thing I need is to feel like I'm being strangled..! Ivor |

I never feel like I am being strangled but on the other hand I do feel most uncomfortable if I go out without wearing a tie. |

Fortunately, my employer is enlightened enough to realise that in a job where I do not deal with the public, and mainly only deal with other bodies like the police etc. by phone, it doesn't matter what I wear. "He does it so I am going to do it too." is something I do not expect to hear from an adult. |

It has failed miserably. The offer remains on the table. Ivor |

I suggest you take the issue up with him and see how far you get. Ivor |
