Default ikino voice 200 no sound ??????

Any help please, I have bought an Ikino 200 and have installed it (it came with skype) but I cant get the handset to work, the buttons are ok on skype but I get no sound on the handset, when I try the test call it fails and says "reason unknown". I have tried their tips for sound using control panel etc but it still doesnt work and just mucks up the rest of my sound settings. Is there an easy way to do this or is it better to try another provider. Thanx in advance for any assistance as I losing hair by the minute

John,

First things first, can you provide a little more information on your setup? What have you done so far, what works, what doesn't.

We need to identify if your sound is working at all on skype. If you make a call, without the headset plugged in, do you get sound out of your speakers?

This suggests your Skype isn't working full stop? This should be addressed first.

Okay, so your skype program is working properly.

Did you recieve and installation disk or drivers with your headset? If so, are you sure you have installed it correcly?

I think I have installed the software, on control panel ,device manager, hardware it shows the phone and says the device is working correctly. question do you have to go to control panel, sounds, audio, and set the phone as the default device everytime you want to use it?

That certainly wont harm anything.

What i suggest you do is open up a sound editing program like the windows sound recorder and just check you can recored off your mic in to there.

If you can, I bet you just need to tinker with the settings in skype. No reason why is shouldn't work.

If your still having difficluties with your device, try PM'ing Randal as he is running the same hardware i believe.

Hope this helps.

I (sometimes) use a USB handet with skype, because it is on my laptop it gets unplugged all the time i find this causes skype to loose its settings! (especially rebooting with it unplugged).

so every time i want to use it i go into skype into the options and select usb device in the audio settings (and i leave windows (control panel) set to my computers soundcard), this routes my computer audio thru the computer and skype thru the handset.

my voipcheap software accepts 2 lots of settings (ie usb and computer) and has a loudspeaker button to toggle between the two -very handy! (and it doesnt loos its settings, if the usb handset isnt plugged in when you reboot it simply uses the other!).
