Default BT Home Hub and Voyager 10V

I have a BT Home hub running without any problems. I have now been given a BT Voyager 10V by a friend and I'd like to know if I can make voip calls through both the Home hub and the 10V. I have a home office in my garden with a LAN connection and I'd like to make calls from there using the 10V.

If I have both the Home Hub and the 10V connected and go to the web site http://www.bt.com/bbv to configure my voice calls it comes up and says that the configuration has been sucessful. Calls through the Home Hub work but there is no dialing tone through the 10V.

If I connect to the 10V configuration manager on the voice basic settings page it has authentication failure on Phone1.

Does anyone know how to manually configure the authentication on the 10V?

I suspect the answer is no you cant.

I haven't used the BT home hub, but it's probably just a normal sip device. In normal circumstances you can only have one device registered to your account details... if you the register another it will over ride the previous device causing the other to stop working.

Matt

Talking BTHH +10v

yes you can mate

but the BT config tool will flash the first BT sip unit it finds so there is a good chance you are not sending the config to your 10v

pop over to bt's config tool at Welcome to BT and enter your number and pw click on the configure link and up pop's the little window with the nice friendly red confure button

Right click on the window and goto "Page Info" hit the links tab and you will find two entries

https://service

http://api.home/voipsetup.api? RIGHT CLICK AND COPY THIS LINE

go paste it into you text editor like notepad

WORD WRAP must be OFF

all you have to do now is change the text "api.home" to the IP address of your voyager 10v

from edit in notepad hit select all then copy and paste it into the address bar of your browser and hit the enter key

and both your 10v and BTHH will be regestered

have fun

all the best

please let me know if you have any probs
