Default Sipgate Router Problem

Have a Linksys AGO41 and RT31P2 adaptor, and despite various efforts can't get the adaptor to logon to my Sipgate account. It'll connect using a soft phone (X-lite), but not the adaptor.

Tried all sorts of port forwarding, and various combinationss. Setup is:
AGO41 - 192.168.7.1 , network gateway as it has the ADSL adaptor in it. Set up as DHCP server (7.50-70), NAT enabled, Dynamic Routing RTP1 enabled. Single ports and groups opened to RT31P2 as suggested by VoIP provider (Sipgate) Ports externally tested by Shields Up! (GRC) and showed initially as stealth, and now as closed(?) apart from port 10000 - Stealth, (10000 UDP, 5004-5011 TCP/UDP, 5080-5086 TCP/UDP, 9000-9001 TCP/UDP)

RT31P2 - 192.188.7.10, DHCP and NAT disabled, Dynamic Routing enabled RTP1, Internet Setup as Fixed IP (80.229.253.103) as anything else gives offline, device physically cascaded in to AGO41, other settings as suggested and I get ‘Can't connect to login server’ as status.

As a test I set up X-lite on a laptop and it connected and I can get test calls etc, without changing any port options in the AGO41. After I did this ‘Go to the X-Lite manu and change "Listen SIP Port" to 5080 and "Listen RTP Port" to 9000.’

I’ve tried all sorts of combinations in the RT31P2 and get the same message. Does the RT31P2 use specific ports to listen? If so could I translate those at the gateway? If I disable NAT in the gateway I lose my http connectivity, and I’ve other PCs and devices connected to the network. It didn’t appear to make any difference which ways around the two routers were cascaded. I’m determined to connect this device, but it has taken 2 weeks so far!

Blimey thats a post and a half.

Haven't actually read the majority of it yet - i need a coffee before i takle it.

I've not used your devices before, so i'll have a read up on them in a bit and try suggest a few things to resolve your issues.

Need to pack as im off on a business trip in the morning, but once i've done that i'll sit down and help you out.

Matt

Yup, been talking to my ISP, Linksys, and Sipgate so far...

Currently on about 40 e-mails, hence providing loads of info.

Well the RT31P2 is normally locked to vonage!

I take it it is an unlocked or hacked model you have?

Have you looked for an updated firmware version?

What firmware version do you have now?

You won't get any help from Linksys as they do not provide support for any Voip products directly with the customer!

That Sucks because you can purchase legal unlocked units!

You can tell if your model was shipped unlocked as it's model number ends with NA!

Yes it is unlocked, ends -UK. Linksys have been relativly helpful on the network side, although the problem still isn't fixed. Latest suggestion is to put the unit on a different subnet. It is a pain in the backside though as if it doesn't work, (which it didn't last time) you have to reboot the to get a new IP address to get in to it again!

Linksys will help with the router side of things but they won't when it comes to voip settings etc!

Forgot, Software is v1.2, and there isn't an upgrade that I could find.

Many thanks to 'acoolwelshbloke' for sending me the firmware, I'm now on v1.30.03, but still not connected!

The linksys idea of a different subnet for the VoIP adaptor got me no further. More ideas please!

Is it just a problem with sipgate?

Can you connect to any other voip provider through that device?
