This is the weird thing, I tried to connect to my ISP service (PlusNet) who don't actually seem to understand the technology and were not very helpful with settings. Connected to both services using X-Lite, a softphone, but the RT31P2 won't connect to either. And there is a limit to how many I want to sign up to!

Linksys are currently suggesting I should use the gateway function through an ADSL adaptor straight off the RT31P2; but that is a little impractical as the phone line is actually in a different room to where I want the phone, I may yet try it though just to eliminate the idea. But I need to get an adaptor, which is annoying as I've allready got one, albeit within another router (The AGO41).

Is what I don't understand is that the softphone can connect without any port forwarding on the gateway, on an assigned IP address, where as the RT31P2 adaptor seems to need a fixed IP and ports forwarded. Any ideas?

1 Sip Signal (UDP) 5060 - 5061
2 RTP (UDP) 5004 - 5005
3 STUN (UDP) 10000 - 10001
4 XLITE (UDP) 8000 - 8019
5 Sip Listen (UDP) 5004
6 CAP (UDP) 1026 - 1027
7 CAP2 1026 (UDP) 1026

This is what I have got and it seems to work for me on my netgear dg834g with a TA612V behind it

This was the extra addition that i got from sipgate when asked and i forwarded the above info to them.

you can try 5060, 5083 and 8000-8012 (all UDP).
If you are using X-Lite at the same time, please change port 5060 into 5070 and 8000 into 9000 in your X-Lite configuration.

I hope this helps

Still getting " Can't connect to login server" from the adaptor, thanks for your response. Even taking the settings out of the X-Lite log and applying them doesn't work, and I've phoned the softphone up so I know that works.

Linksys suggest getting an ADSL adaptor and using the 'internet' port on the adaptor to connect directly. Has anyone done that? If so, what did they use?
