Talking Introducing myself

hi everyone, my name is Rob and i'm a IPT tech based in Inverness Scotland. I've just taken on a job for a company deploying/networking/faults etc of their VoIP products which range from IPDC through to Communicator a gamma/mitel softswitch VoIP. I would be grateful for and any tips or hints on tools/testers which would help me determin if a DSL circuit is going to be resiliant enough to run VoIP circuits. Also has anyone got any feedback on the best router to use which has failover/fallback if the power fails or DSL fails.
Cheers
Rob
