Default Hello

Hi,

My name is Steve and I work for Zen Internet Ltd and have been involved Zen's soon to launch (hopefully) 'Broadband Voice' product. I also look after the internal VoIP phone system and if you've ever called Zen you will have heard my dulcet tones.

Ey up Steve,

Ah Zen are one of the better ones! You'll bring valuable knowledge to the forum if you stick around?

How have Zen setup their voice product if you dont mind me asking? Would you get the sack if you told me?

I can't reveal too many details about Zen's commercial platform other to say its split between an in house application handling client access and a customisation of an 'open source' SIP based PBX.

Also internally we use Avaya (Multivantage) and hence I have a few ACA's, I would be interested (on a purely hypothetical basis - haha) in speaking to anyone with experience of configuring a TE210P to work with a Your Comms/Thus E1.

Open source SIP based PBX huh..... wonder which one that could be :)

Was trying to read up on Your Comms/Thus E1, but it seems the Thus site is down! Eek.

How do you guys find Avaya?

The Thus site (for all the good it does) is up so you might wanna check your DNS/ISP.

As for the Avaya system its your average 'enterprise class' voip system; h323 based, unflexible (with regards to protocol support, hope fully this will change with the Microsoft partnership) and last but not least expensive! However I'd still take it over Cisco simply for features, although CM is catching up.
