Sorry about that, but I must be stupid. I am developing quite a dislike for BT since I cannot understand (and haven't been for a while) the information they give on their website. I was having a look
here and I don't understand what they are talking about. Are they trying to flog a VoIP system without a phone line, or is the line rental a hidden cost that will appear once you reach the till? Also the way of pricing stuff in my opinion is very confusing. All these start up costs thaht vary according to what you have chosen.... I don't know, maybe it is me
Someone was telling me that the phone line is not necessary, but as far as I am aware they don't have any other kind of cable. I don't know.....

HHhmmmm, update: I think the answer is no!. For a start you need to be online and then I found the small print where it says you DO need a "BT line or similar" (whatever that might mean). Apart from the fact that they give you a router, it hardly seems worthwhile......
Maybe I should have posted somewhere else.....
