BT Broadband Talk Telephone Adapter

Hi there,

I am planning to try BT's Broadband Talk service. My broadband internet provider is ntl and I have Netgear Wireless Router (WGR614) connected to my cable modem.

Although the BT webpage states "Our simple order process will advise and let you choose a Telephone Adapter appropriate to your Broadband connection" it does not allow me to register without ordering the Telephone Adapter which I have to pay £30.00!

Could anyone please explain to me what this "Telephone Adapater" is and whether I can buy it from elsewhere (e.g. eBay) cheaper than BT?

They do not allow you to get it from other places.

They can be bought on ebay for around £10.. But you cannot order the service without buying it from them it seems

I talked to them and they agreed to give me the service without the adapter.

Any suggestions for a adapter I should be looking at on eBay please?
