Just to add to my comments yesterday,

I think skype is a great bridge for people to cross over from the standard PSTN network, and once you have mastered that/got used to the whole thing, you should maybe look at a real VoIP service.

Poor skype quality shouldn't put you off moving over to VoIP.

Skype is a very successful company, however im always very weary of companies that grow to huge sizes in no time at all. For example, i used bulldog broadband when it first started cropping up. Excellent service, couldn't fault it. They sign up another million customers. It grinds to a halt.
 I'm quite forgiving with service faults etc... if there is someone to deal with your issue. It took me 3 weeks just to speak to someone so i could cancel. From what i gather their customer service still remains to a similar standard.

Went on a bit of a rant there. Oh well.
