Response from AVM in case others find this helpful. I remain to be
convinced about the comment about CLIP though...
FRITZ!Box Fon products can manage up to 10 sip accounts. You can configure
what accounts should be used by default for outgoing for each phone. Besides
the default routing, you can set up dial rules (dial plans) - for example if
the number begins with 001 it should use sipaccount number 4. If it begins
with 999 it should use the PSTN fixed line, etc. You can also select
manually which service you want:
*121# through *129# to select the prefered sip account to use for this call.
Or *11# to use the PSTN line for this call.

Clip is working throughout UK, I have not heard any problems. We support
CLIP in the USA as well, so I believe that we have you covered.
